The Mavericks Report| Will Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving be at Sunday's game against the Spurs

The Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs will play their last regular-season games on Sunday in Dallas. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. EDT at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The latest Injury Report for the Mavericks – Spurs

The Spurs are tied for the worst record in the West with Houston, while the Mavericks are 38-43 and out of the playoffs. Dallas has won all three encounters this season, covering twice.

FOR THE MAVERICKS

The Dallas Mavericks have been the NBA’s biggest letdown this season.

The Western Conference finalist enters this game with a record of 38-43, ranking 11th in the West and out of postseason contention.

It’s especially frustrating since they had great aspirations after making a major trade for all-star Kyrie Irving in early February.

The Mavericks were 29-26 and sixth in the West when they acquired Irving in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney Smith as well as draft picks.

They went 9-17 with Irving the rest of the year, so it’s safe to say that was a bad deal.

Irving will not be playing for the Mavericks next season since the team does not want him.

Irving will miss the season finale against the Spurs on Sunday due to right foot ailment recovery.

Irving is one of several Mavericks players who will miss the season finale because the team is no longer in playoff contention.

The star floor general never got going in Dallas after being moved from the Nets in the middle of the season, and his future is unknown.

In his 20 games with the Mavericks following the trade, Irving averaged 27.0 points, 6.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game.

Doncic will miss the season finale against the Spurs on Sunday due to thigh injury recuperation.

Doncic is one of several Mavericks players who will miss the season finale due to the team’s elimination from postseason contention.

He played the first quarter and a few seconds of the second period before sitting out the rest of Friday’s loss to the Bulls, and he finishes the season with MVP-like numbers, though he won’t be in contention for the title.

He finishes the 2022-23 season with 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game.

Let’s continue to scroll down a little more to check out the Mavericks’ injury list for today’s game.

FOR THE SPURS

The Spurs have finally completed a season that has lasted since November.

They got off to a good start in their first dozen or so games, but it’s been all downhill since then.

As we near the end of the season, they have one of the poorest records in the NBA.

They have some of the best odds to win the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes, which is great news.

The Spurs have won some games down the stretch, but the playing field has been leveled because many of their opponents have been playing bench players in the last week.

The Spurs virtually field a bench team every night, so it balances out now.
