Resident Evil 4 Guide – How to deface the portrait of Ramon Salazar

If you’re looking to trade for some sweet loot in Resident Evil 4 Remake, there are a couple of requests worth taking on, but “The Disgrace of the Salazar Family” is probably the most satisfying. The note to initiate this offbeat sidequest is hung near the gondola in Chapter 12’s prologue; it asks you to deface the portrait of Ramon Salazar in the castle’s throne room.

Ramon’s portrait can be found in the castle’s throne room, which means you’ll have to go back through some areas you’ve already seen. You’ll also encounter a few difficult opponents as you make your way back to the throne room, so be prepared to fight.

When you reach the throne room, you’ll notice Ramon’s portrait hanging on the left wall – a much smaller portrait than the others on the back wall. Your first instinct may be to start slicing it with your knife or shooting bullets into his smug face, but the way to complete this request is a little more fun and juvenile than that.

You’ll notice some chickens roaming around the throne room. Keep an eye on them for a while to see if they lay eggs. Pick one up and place it in your inventory. This will put it in Leon’s hand and allow you to aim and throw it at Ramon’s portrait. This will finish the request, which you can then give to the merchant the next time you see him.
