Nikola Jokic PLAY AGAINST with Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins for Sunday's game. Injury report for the Nuggets - Warriors

On April 2, 2023, the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets will meet in a Western Conference game in Denver, Colorado’s Ball Arena as the 2022-23 NBA season resumes.

The latest injury Report for Denver Nuggets vs. the Golden State Warriors

Report for the Nuggets

Denver (51-26) is already in the playoffs, but they haven’t clinched the top spot in the Western Conference yet.

The Nuggets have lost two in a row and are two games ahead of Memphis with five games left to play. The Grizzlies and the Nuggets are tied, but Denver has the tiebreaker.

The Nuggets have put safety ahead of getting the top seed by keeping Nikola Jokic out of the last two games because of tightness in his calf.

They lost at home to New Orleans on Thursday night without him, and then they lost at Phoenix on Friday night when Jamal Murray (left knee management), Michael Porter Jr. (left heel), and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (non-COVID illness) joined Jokic on the injury report.

Denver didn’t practice on Saturday, so there was no news about the four players right away.

The four players didn’t make the trip on Friday, which left Aaron Gordon as the only starter and gave some of the bench players a chance to play.

Christian Braun got a rare start, and as the playoffs get closer, he keeps making a case to play more.

The key will be Jokic, who is about to have a season that will go down in history. He is averaging 24.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 9.9 assists per game. If he keeps this up for the rest of the season, he will be only the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double. He could also become the fourth player to win MVP three years in a row.

Jokic might not be able to play against the Warriors on Sunday because of a calf injury.

The player who is in the running for MVP has missed the last two games with a sore right calf. The team has few reasons to bring him back quickly, unless they are desperate to get the top spot in the Western Conference.

At the moment, the Nuggets are two games ahead of the Grizzlies, and Denver still has games against the Rockets and Jazz that should be easy. If Jokic is benched on Sunday, DeAndre Jordan, Thomas Bryant, and Zeke Nnaji could still get more time on the court.

In preparation for the game against the Warriors on Sunday, we will now continue to go over the Nuggets’ injured list.

  • Collin Gillespie (Lower Leg): Expected to be out until at least Apr 4
  • Michael Porter Jr. (Heel ): Game Time Decision
  • Jamal Murray (Knee): Game Time Decision
  • Zeke Nnaji (Knee): Game Time Decision
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Illness): Game Time Decision
  • Nikola Jokic (Calf): Game Time Decision

Report for the Warriors

Warriors go to Nuggets to get a better playoff spot.

In the last week of the NBA season, a lot is still up in the air, especially in the Western Conference. Five teams are trying to get out of the play-in tournament, and one team is trying to keep the top spot.

That makes Sunday night’s game between the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets a little more exciting.

With four games left in the season, defending champion Golden State (41–37) is still in a good position to make the playoffs. Few people would have thought that the Warriors would be in this position at this point in the season.

The Warriors’ season has been full of ups and downs, and their road record has been much worse than usual.

Golden State is only 9–29 away from home, and one of its most important players from last year, Andrew Wiggins, hasn’t played since February 13 for personal reasons.

But Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole can all shoot well and play at a high level for the Warriors.

Poole made six 3-pointers as the Warriors beat San Antonio on Friday night. He now joins Thompson and Curry as players who have made 200 or more 3-pointers this season.

More importantly, his 27 points, along with Curry’s 33 and Thompson’s 31, helped Golden State get a better hold on a spot in the playoffs.

Wiggins will not play against the Nuggets on Sunday because of a personal matter.

Even though the Golden State Warriors keep saying they support Wiggins while he is away from the team taking care of a personal matter, they haven’t said when or if he might come back this season.

Since he hasn’t played since just before the All-Star break, Wiggins will probably need some time to get back in shape before he can play again. He won’t be able to play in any of the Warriors’ three games this week, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be back for the last week of the regular season.

Let’s scroll down to have a look at the injured list that the Warriors have for today’s play.

  • Ty Jerome (Not Injury Related): Expected to be out until at least Apr 4
  • Andrew Wiggins (Personal): Expected to be out until at least Apr 4
  • Andre Iguodala (Wrist): Expected to be out until at least Apr 18
  • Ryan Rollins (Foot): Out for the season
