5 Stars Who’ve Defended New Moms & Their Baby Weight Gain

No new mom should have to listen to weight criticism when they’ve just given birth and these 5 stars have all stood up for new moms and their baby weight gain. Saying that it is nothing short of horrible to call out a new mom for putting on a few pounds that she hasn’t shifted instantly, these stars felt the need to defend those who’ve just gone through a pregnancy and shouldn’t have to immediately focus on weight loss when they should just be happy to have welcomed a healthy baby and be enjoying motherhood. The media seem increasingly harsh on new moms as of late, and these celebrities want an end to calling new mothers names because it’s ridiculous and unfair, while setting an impossible standard which shouldn’t be important to any new mother.

Christina Aguilera

Christina defended her own post-baby weight, saying that she loved her body after giving birth to her son: “I haven’t got back to my pre-baby weight yet, but I’m loving my body. My husband loves my cleavage in particular. I’ve just got back into the gym and I’m doing boxing and weights. I want to be in shape for my next record.”

Jessica Simpson

Jessica said she felt bad for the negativity Kim Kardashian had to put up with: “I felt for Kim – I knew exactly what she was going through … I send a lot of love her way, and I know she’ll come back with a bang. I will never understand why people give pregnant women such a hard time. We are creating a human life: I think we get every excuse in the world to eat a doughnut!”

Kelly Osbourne

Defending Kim Kardashian and pregnant women in general, Kelly said it is truly horrible to call any woman fat after she has just given birth: ”I think its deplorable to call any pregnant women fat! People who say terrible things are usually saying what they think about themselves.”

Kendra Wilkinson

Kendra rushed to defend Jessica Simpson after she gave birth to her first child, saying that mean stories broke her heart: ”That just breaks my heart. I feel for her. I was in the same boat. People just need to mind their own business. That’s a woman who just gave birth.”

Kristen Bell

Defending her own post-baby body, Kristen said that she doesn’t want to pressure herself: “I refused to worry about something I could not change, and I still refuse. Look, I’m like any other woman, I had to surrender to not worrying about the way I looked, how much I weighed, because that’s just part of the journey of having a baby. I am not a woman whose self-worth comes from her dress size.”
