Will LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant play on Friday? Injury Report Lakers – Suns

The Phoenix Suns take on the Los Angeles Lakers in a Pacific Division matchup at Los Angeles, with the Suns looking to clinch their four-game regular-season series against the Lakers.

Injury Update Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers (41-39; 39-39-2 ATS) are coming off a 125-118 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

After defeating the Chicago Bulls 121-110, Minnesota Timberwolves 123-111, Houston Rockets 134-109, and Utah Jazz 135-133 in overtime in their previous four games, the Lakers fell to the Clippers for the 11th time in a row.

Over 35 minutes, LeBron James finished with 33 points (13-20 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists, one block, and one steal.

According to Mark Medina of NBA.com, James (foot) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Suns.

James has been listed as questionable for every game since returning from his foot injury, but he has yet to miss one, so he feels a little more likely. Fans can expect an official update on his status closer to Friday’s game.

Meanwhile, Anthony Davis recorded a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Davis (foot) is questionable for Friday’s game against Phoenix, according to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times.

Davis has been suffering from nagging foot pain for the past few weeks, but he hasn’t missed a game since mid-March.

After playing both legs of the Lakers’ most recent back-to-back, the center may be allowed to play again Friday in a game with playoff implications.

If Davis is forced to miss time, Wenyen Gabriel and Jarryd Vanderbilt could see increased playing time.

  • D’Angelo Russell – Doubt vs. Suns

D’Angelo Russell is expected to play against the Suns on Friday due to left foot soreness, according to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times.

Russell has been dealing with a nagging foot injury since April. He was limited to 15 minutes in Sunday’s win and was forced to sit out the first leg of a back-to-back set on Tuesday. He did, however, return to action on Wednesday and played 40 minutes.

Russell, given his probable designation, is expected to play Friday and should be ready to go against Phoenix.

The Lakers clinched the play-in spot and were tied with the New Orleans Pelicans for the No. 7 seed in the West on Thursday. They trailed the Clippers and Warriors by one game and were one game ahead of the No. 9 Minnesota Timberwolves.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns won their season-best seventh game in a row, holding off the short-handed Denver Nuggets 119-115 on Thursday night.

  • Kevin Durant – Active

Kevin Durant led the Suns with 29 points and seven rebounds in 40 minutes, as the Suns improved to 8-0 with the 13-time All-Star in the lineup.

It should come as no surprise that Durant will continue lead the Suns against the mighty Lakers tonight.
