As Valorant Episode 7 Act 3 nears its conclusion, players are gearing up for the highly anticipated arrival of Episode 8 Act 1. If you’re eager to dive into the next chapter of Valorant, here’s all the information you need, from the start date to potential new features.

When does VALORANT Episode 7 end?

Valorant Episode 8 Act 1 Start Date

Mark your calendars! Valorant Episode 8 Act 1 kicks off on January 10, 2024. Get ready for the update to go live at 12 AM GMT / 7 PM ET / 4 PM PT. Just like with previous updates, Riot will disable Competitive matchmaking for a few hours after Episode 7 Act 3 ends, so be patient and enjoy some Unrated games while you wait.

It’s important to note that Riot Games typically schedules server maintenance immediately after the end of an Act. This maintenance temporarily disables the Competitive mode while leaving other game modes available for players to enjoy.

Battle Pass Rewards

No Episode would be complete without a brand new Battle Pass, and Episode 8 Act 1 is no different. Just like before, you can grab the Battle Pass for 1000 VP ($10). While Riot hasn’t officially revealed the new Battle Pass rewards yet, you can expect it to have the usual 50 Tiers, with exciting skins, weapon charms, and other goodies waiting to be unlocked by earning XP through matches and completing daily and weekly missions.

New Agent Incoming?

There’s a good chance that Episode 8 Act 1 will bring a brand new Agent to the Valorant roster. While Riot hasn’t confirmed anything yet, many players are speculating that the new character could be a Sentinel or Initiator. After all, the last Agent we got was a Duelist, so it’s unlikely that we’ll see another one so soon. Only time will tell what Riot has in store for us, but one thing’s for sure: a new Agent would definitely shake up the meta!

Agent Meta Shifts

Episode 8 Act 1 could also bring some significant changes to the Agent meta. While Riot doesn’t need to tweak the weapons all that often, Agents require more frequent adjustments to keep the meta fresh. The last patch of 2023 (Patch 7.12) nerfed Skye’s Trailblazer while buffing Gekko’s abilities. Whether the new Act will bring more balance changes remains to be seen, but if Riot decides to introduce a new Agent, we can definitely expect some adjustments for Agents who are lagging behind in the current meta.

Map Changes

Episode 8 Act 1 might also see some changes to the map pool. At least one map is expected to be disabled, and there’s even a possibility that we could see the return of Icebox, which was removed back in Episode 6 Act 3. Of course, nothing is set in stone yet, so we’ll just have to wait and see what Riot decides.

New Valorant Skins

Get ready to empty your wallets, Valorant fans! Episode 8 Act 1 is sure to bring a whole new set of stunning skins to the game. Valorant is known for its amazing cosmetics, and bundles like Reaver, Prime, and Elderflame have been huge hits with players. If the new skins come with cool new designs, sounds, and VFX upgrades, you can expect the community to go crazy for them.

So there you have it! That’s everything we know so far about Valorant Episode 8 Act 1. Get ready for a ton of exciting new content when the update launches on January 10, 2024. See you on the battlefield!
