INJURY STATUS: Active

UPDATE: Ja Morant will play against the 76ers on Friday.

Ja Morant will play against Pelicans on Friday.

Ja Morant had 34 points (12-21 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-15 FT), seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 34 minutes against the Kings on Tuesday.

Morant shot the ball well in this one and has continued to put up impressive rebounding numbers, grabbing 22 total rebounds in his last three games.

Over the first month and a half of the 2022-23 season, the point guard has been dominant, averaging 28.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 1.1 steals in 15 games.

The All-Star point guard is listed as questionable after suffering an ankle injury in Friday’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder (he did not play in Sunday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets).

The Grizzlies provided an update on Morant’s injury on Saturday, stating that he would be considered “week-to-week.”

Ja Morant will not play against the Nets on Sunday.

Ja Morant suffered a Grade 1 ankle sprain against the Thunder on Friday and is listed as week-to-week.

Morant’s injury is a huge setback for a Grizzlies team that has a solid 10-6 record through 16 games.

The tone of Charania’s report is depressing, and fantasy owners should not be surprised if Morant is out for the next few weeks.

Morant appeared to get his feet tangled in a disputed situation with Luguentz Dort. Morant collapsed to the ground with an apparent ankle injury and had to be helped to his feet by the team’s training staff. He did not return to the game.

With Desmond Bane (toe) out, Morant stepped up with another big scoring effort, but it wasn’t enough to keep New Orleans at bay.

The fourth-year superstar has scored 30 or more points in seven of the first 13 games of the season, thanks in part to improved outside shooting. Morant is shooting 40.3 percent from three-point range, a career high.
