According to the lore revealed by the new vampire hunter companion Erys, the vampiric invasion has slowly taken over forgotten villages in Sanctuary while the Church of Light turned a blind eye. Players must stop the vampire pest and its enigmatic leader before they turn everyone into monstrous vampires.

Diablo 4 Season 2 Season of Blood – Gameplay & Balance Changes

Alongside vampire hunting, fans can expect major changes coming to Diablo 4 in Season of Blood based on feedback from the inaugural season. Inventory management for gems is being overhauled so they no longer take up inventory space. The stash system now allows for filtering items by class. Paragon Points, Skill Points, and more will also now carry over between seasonal resets.

Additionally, adjustments are coming to status effect mechanics like Vulnerable, Overpower, Critical Strike Damage, and Elemental Resistances. Some endgame bosses will also be updated to allow targeted farming of certain Unique and Set items.

Will Diablo 4 Season 2 Have a Seasonal Reset?

As with Season 1, expect a complete seasonal reset once more in Diablo 4 Season 2.

Once again, any characters from the main game will not be wiped, as Season 1 ends, characters will keep all their gear and progress, but will become just regular non-seasonal characters – much like they did in Diablo 3.

However, to enjoy the new seasonal content you will need to make a new character when Season 2 begins. Players will be unable to transfer their Season 1 character to Season 2 or upgrade a non-seasonal character to a seasonal character.

The Diablo 4 development team promises additional details on everything coming in Season of Blood as the current season winds down. With the new vampire themes and sweeping gameplay changes, Diablo fans have much to look forward to when Season 2 launches on October 17.
