Destiny 2 Season of the Deep leaks reveal Exotics weapon & armor changes

Leaks from the Bungie_Leaks Twitter account suggest that more than a dozen Exotic weapons will undergo significant changes in the upcoming Season of the Deep for Destiny 2. In addition to the leaks, Bungie’s March 30 “This Week at Bungie” post mentioned changes and buffs to weapons like the Graviton Lance and Salvation’s Grip.

In addtion, It has been revealed that the current Power system may be phased out in favor of a team-wide score from 0 to 100. However, Season 21 may not be the right time to implement this change.

The leaked information states that when Salvation’s Grip is not charged, it will fire regular explosive grenades and when it is charged, it will fire Stasis crystals. However, in order to match with Revision Zero’s two-shot burst, the Graviton Lance’s rate of fire will be increased, and the damage dealt by each shot will be equalized.

When using the Eyes of Tomorrow, players will get their ammo back if they lock onto and kill four targets in a single volley. When the Catalyst is installed, the Worldline Zero’s Tesseract ability will be able to chain into itself, and Tommy’s Matchbook will be changed so that it burns targets while overheated.

The leaks also hint at changes coming to the Exotic versions of Warlock, Titan, and Hunter armor:

Hunters

  • Arthrys’s Embrace: Weighted Knife energy granted on rapid precision hits.
  • Mask of Bakris: Increased damage bonus but no longer stacking with damage surge mods.
  • Oathkeeper: Increased PVE damage per arrow the longer the arrow is held.
  • Radiant Dance Machines: Extension of effect duration through kills.
  • Raiju’s Harness: Blinding explosion on deactivating Super and Arc damage buff.
  • Sealed Ahamkara Grasps: Reload of all weapons matching subclass on powered melee kills, with a temporary increase in movement and jump speed.
  • St0mp-EE5: Mobility bonus provided only when dodge energy is full.

Titans

  • Dunemarchers: Significant reduction to chaining damage in PVP and range in all modes.
  • Eternal Warrior: Total rework with Arc kills granting escalating Arc weapon damage bonus and full Arc weapon damage bonus after Fists of Havoc ends.
  • Khepri’s Horn: Application of Scorch.
  • Path of Burning Steps: Removal of stacking with damage surge mods.
  • Point Contact Cannon Brace: Jolting enemies, increased PVE damage, and Amplified effect change to increase damage instead of range.
  • Second Chance: Weakening enemies on Shield Throw and refunding a charge when stunning Barrier Champions.
  • Stronghold: Restoration provided after blocking damage with a sword.

Warlocks

  • Astrocyte Burst: Small suppressing burst created upon Blinking.
  • Chromatic Fire: Explosions apply subclass keyword effects, e.g., Scorch for Solar, Volatile for Void, etc.
  • Claws of Ahamkara: Orb spawned on Power from powered melee kills.
  • Dawn Chorus: Daybreak projectiles Scorch on impact and deal increased damage to Scorched targets.
  • Mantle of Battle Harmony: Removal of stacking damage buff.
  • Ophidian Aspect: Removal of melee lunge distance buff.
  • Sanguine Alchemy: Small damage bonus to weapons with matching elemental types to subclass while in Rift.
  • Vesper of Radius: Periodic shockwaves emitted from Rifts that blind enemies while on Stormcaller.

That wraps up the information we have about the upcoming season of Destiny 2 that has leaked out so far. Keep in mind that these rumors have not been confirmed by Bungie and may change before the Season of the Deep’s official release.
