UPDATE (Jan. 14): Final injury reports

The Jaguars

  • WR Jamal Agnew, Questionable (Shoulder)
  • QB Trevor Lawrence, Questionable (Toe)
  • LS Ross Matiscik, Questionable (Back)
  • K Riley Patterson, Full (Right Knee)
  • WR Kendric Pryor, Questionable (Shoulder)
  • OL Brandon Scherff, Questionable (Abdomen)

Trevor Lawrence, the team’s quarterback, is the name that jumps out the most on the report. But if you have been reading about the Jaguars’ practices over the last month, you would know that this is nothing to worry about. Since getting hurt, Lawrence has been listed as limited in every practice.

Since being picked first overall in the NFL Draft in 2021, Lawrence has started every game for the last two seasons. There isn’t much chance that he will miss this one.

The Chargers

  • OLB Joey Bosa, Full (Groin)
  • CB Bryce Callahan, Full (Groin)
  • FB Zander Horvath, Full (Ankle)
  • LB Kenneth Murray, Jr., Full (Neck)
  • LB Amen Ogbongbemiga, Full (Biceps)
  • T Trey Pipkins III, Full (Knee)
  • WR Mike Williams, OUT (Back)

The Los Angeles Chargers were lucky that Joey Bosa and Kenneth Murray, two important parts of their defense, didn’t get hurt too badly. Both of them were on the list of full participants.

Meanwhile, WR Mike Williams has already said he can’t. He was DNP for most of the week, and then he was officially listed as questionable until Staley said he would miss this game. Williams has hurt his back and will be out for two to three weeks. If the Chargers don’t make it to the Super Bowl, his season is over.

For the Chargers to advance in the playoffs, they will need Williams and Bosa to be at their best

According to Popper, Williams is undergoing treatment, but his prognosis is uncertain at this time. Head coach Brandon Staley said Bosa will have a groin injury listed on the team’s injury report.

“Kind of like Justin (Herbert) last week, you know how you list a guy on the report but they’re full, that’s just the nature of it,” Staley said of Bosa.

Mike Williams will likely participate in this week’s practices, though it remains to be seen if he will be limited in any way.

This season, Williams only got to play in 13 games. To go along with his four touchdown catches, he totaled just under 900 receiving yards. When fully recovered, Mike Williams is an invaluable asset for the Lakers.

At the same time, Joey Bosa is a top-tier defensive player. However, he has had to deal with injury concerns all year long. The Los Angeles defense has been subpar as a whole throughout the 2022 campaign. That’s why the Chargers need Bosa to play for them.

The Chargers were unable to win their Week 18 game against the Broncos. Despite this, they had a very successful season. However, the Wild Card round will send LA on the road to face the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Updates on the status of Joey Bosa and Mike Williams’ injuries will be provided as they become available in the lead-up to the Chargers’ playoff game against the Jaguars.
