Baker Mayfield’s tenure with the Panthers has had a bumpy start after four games. The offense is the worst in the league in terms of total yards per game, and the team is 1-3. (262.3).

He has a passer rating of 75.0, which is 30th, and a completion percentage of 54.7%, which is 31st.

He was questioned about why so many of his pass attempts have been intercepted at the line of scrimmage on Wednesday.

Mayfield was, to put it mildly, not all that eager to respond.

“If you have a drill for me, you can let me know,” Mayfield said when asked whether it was something coaches have been working on with him in practice. “I mean, it’s like, staying in the pocket. It’s finding windows to throw, getting their hands down in the quick game. It’s the same things I keep saying.”

In Carolina’s Week 4 loss to the Cardinals, Mayfield committed three errors: two interceptions and one fumble. Only 11 first downs and 2 of 10 third-down tries were made by the Panthers. Only 197 yards on 36 tries and two sacks were allotted to Mayfield.

In Sunday’s home game against the 49ers, the squad will try to record its second victory of the season as frustration continues to grow.
