Anthony Edwards and Stephen Curry: ACTIVE or OUT for Saturday's match. Injruy Report for  Timberwolves - Warriors

On Sunday, the Minnesota Timberwolves will play host to the Golden State Warriors. Is Stephen Curry and Anthony Edwards having a race tonight? We should get started.

The latest update for Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors Injury

THE TIMBERWOLVES

UPDATE: Gobert has a oppoturnity to play on Sunday’s match.

In the end of Friday’s 121-113 loss to Charlotte, Gobert had 17 points (7-9 FG, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 1 steal in 30 minutes of action.

Spinning it another way, Gobert scored 17 points or more in each of his three double-double games in a row. As a result, fantasy managers should keep a watch on his recent uptick in shot volume, especially because he had previously only averaged in the low teens. In addition, they should be ecstatic that he has blocked three shots for the second game in a row, something he had not done all season.

Injury report for the Timberwolves

PLAYER UPDATED INJURY
INJURY STATUS
Jaylen Nowell Feb 25 Knee

Taurean Prince Feb 25 Personal
Game Time Decision
Karl-Anthony Towns Feb 15 Calf
Expected to be out until at least Mar 10
  • Jaylen Nowell (Knee)

Due to left knee tendinopathy, Nowell’s status for Sunday’s game against the Warriors is in doubt.

Nowell hasn’t missed a single game thus far this season. Despite his erratic play, the Timberwolves might use his potential as a microwave scorer in Sunday’s matchup. In that situation, Austin Rivers may soon see an increase in his playing time.

  • Taurean Prince (Personal)

On a personal note for Prince, his availability for Sunday’s game against the Warriors is in doubt.

Maybe related to the personal problem that kept Prince out of Friday’s loss to Charlotte, Prince may not play on Sunday. It’s possible that this means increased minutes for Jaylen Nowell (knee), Austin Rivers, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

  • Karl-Anthony Towns (Calf)

Shams Charania said that the Timberwolves are keeping their fingers crossed that Towns (calf) will be able to return to the court during the final 10 to 15 games of the season.

Towns has been out since Nov. 28 with a Grade 3 right calf strain, and while the Timberwolves have said he will return before the end of the season, they haven’t committed to a specific schedule for when he will be able to return.

While Charania’s analysis doesn’t provide a crystal ball, it does provide a little more insight into the situation. Towns won’t be ready to play right after the All-Star break, but he may return sometime between March 10 and March 20 if the Timberwolves’ final 10-to-15 games as projected is any indication.

Managers in redraft leagues that are trying to make up ground in the standings and have few or no reserve slots available may have to drop Towns if there are no rumors of him coming to practice by late February or early March.

THE WARRIORS

How about Stephen Curry on the game today?

The Warriors stated that Curry would be re-evaluated in a week due to a lower leg injury.

Even though Curry was expected to sit out after the break, the latest report suggests he will miss the first four games of the second half. Since the injury, the star point guard has done some cycling and weightlifting but hasn’t participated in any on-court action as of last week.

Depending on the results of Curry’s upcoming reevaluation, we could see him return to action on March 2 or 3 against the Clippers or Pelicans.

  • Andre Iguodala (Hip)

Iguodala (hip) will miss Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves, and his return to the court is still uncertain.

There is no telling when the veteran will be able to play again after appearing in just three games so far this season. At this point in his career, Iguodala has little impact on fantasy teams.

  • Andrew Wiggins (Personal)

Wiggins (personal) is still without a timetable to return to the Warriors while he deals with a family problem, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. Wiggins is listed as out for Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves.

Wiggins was absent from the Warriors’ game against the Clippers on February 14 due to family matters, and head coach Steve Kerr didn’t provide many details on Thursday about when the forward might be able to rejoin the club after the All-Star break.

The Warriors kick off the second half of their schedule with a back-to-back pair, so it looks like Wiggins will miss both Thursday’s game against the Thunder and Friday’s game against the Rockets. After replacing Wiggins in the starting lineup on February 14, Donte DiVincenzo is expected to maintain his role with the first team for as long as Wiggins is out with an injury.

During Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves, Green’s status is in doubt due to a knee injury.

On Friday, Green missed the team’s victory over the Rockets because of an injured right knee. He may not play on Sunday as a result of the injury. With him out, Jonathan Kuminga would likely get the nod to start again.

  • Gary Payton II (Abdomen)

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Warriors general manager Bob Myers indicated that Payton (abdomen) will be re-evaluated in one month.

  • Ryan Rollins (Foot)

According to Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com, Rollins will have surgery on Wednesday to fix a Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, effectively ending his season.
