Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Guide – How to investigate Storm Cloud

Reaching the Hebra Peak

When you start this quest and look northeast, you’ll see some yellow buildings. Go around the mountain by following them.

More yellow stones will be visible along the wall; use Tulin’s Gust of Wind to reach them. When you encounter the enemy on the platform, look up to see another yellow stone structure, climb the wall to reach it, and you will see a linear pillar up ahead.

Cross the pillar by walking on it, and then use your Ascend ability to climb to the top. After that, continue up the snowy hill until you reach the highest point in Zelda TotK, Hebra Peak, where NPC Huck will be waiting for you. Speak with him and he will show you how to get to the Rising Island Chain.

Climbing the Rising Island Chain

Now follow the mini-map to the northeast until you reach the platform. After that, you’ll come to a set of curved shape platforms that surround a central pillar. Ascend your way to the top of the platform using Tulin’s Gust of Wind.

When you reach the top, look around to make sure there are no more platforms above you. After that, glide toward the platform with a massive pillar on its head. Use Ascend to reach the top of that pillar; this is where you will find the Rising Island Chain.

Investigating the Rising Island Chain

From here, you’ll notice a shrine, and the quickest way to get there is to take the straight path until you reach the flying boat with a trampoline. It can be used to jump and glide over to the shrine.

After activating the shrine, keep in mind that until you reach the area with numerous flying boats, you must break the ice platforms wherever you see them, because beneath each ice platform is a sailboat with a trampoline.

From the shrine, take the path to the northwest until you reach a platform with three blocks. Fuse these three blocks and climb on them to reach the platform above.

Follow the path to the northeast until you reach the second ice platform. From there, head west to the third ice platform, and then simply follow the stationary flying ships as a trampoline until you reach the platform with a side pillar. Ascend to the top and glide over to the platform in the direction of the quest marker. You will encounter enemies on that platform, so take care of them.

Also, keep in mind that the bridge connecting the two platforms is a trap, and it will begin collapsing the moment you step on it. The best strategy would be to set off all three traps with arrows and then use Tulin’s Gust of Wind to get to the other end.

After that, keep following the path until you reach a point where you can see some of the air balloon’s parts. We used the Ultrahand ability to building the balloon. Hit the heating part with your weapon to light it up, then glide over to the platform on the North side.

Ascend to the top of the pillar and climb the wall on the northwest side, then use the sail to jump in the air and break the ice if you see it.

Jumping off the platform will get you to the next checkpoint, where a shrine awaits you. Activate it to create a permanent fast travel point.

Make your way to the Storm Cloud’s center

Go right, with your back to the Shrine, and use the sailboat to fly through the sky. You’ve arrived at the area with the most flying ships, and the Storm Cloud is now on your left. The goal from here on out is to keep going higher with the flying boats until you reach a clear sky.

When you reach a clear sky, dive right into the Storm Cloud. The Wind Temple, which is causing the Storm Cloud, can be found here. To unravel the mystery surrounding this Storm Cloud, you must unlock all of the Wind Temple locks in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
