A closer look

Arcane Mage

Arcane could be a powerful spec in 10.1. The problem will be caused by the raid tier’s high mobility requirement and Arcane’s desire to remain a DPS turret. Time will tell, but Mage has finally received some attention late in the PTR cycle, so it may still have a chance.

Beast Mastery Hunter

After recovering from its bow nerf in 10.0, BM requires some time to settle. As is customary, it will perform extremely well early on due to the spec’s simplicity and mobility, but will suffer later as the player base gains a better understanding of the raid.

Devastation Evoker

Devastation is expected to have a strong start in 10.1. The PTR logs look good, and with the specs’ easy rotation and high mobility, the Devastation Evoker should be in a good position going into the patch.

Enhancement Shaman

With a raid tier centered around dealing damage to the boss and several melee specs looking promising, Enhancement Shaman has a good chance of doing well. The spec “slaps” itself, and the benefits it provides to the rest of the melee DPS pool are substantial enough to make them indispensable.

Havoc Demon Hunter

Havoc will remain a strong DPS spec. While the tier set is “so-so,” the spec looks like it will do a lot of damage.

Retribution Paladin

Retribution received a rework in 10.0.7, but it took until 10.1 for the spec to shine. Ret appears to be having a great time with its single-target raid tier. Early logs appear to be promising, with a consistent damage profile throughout the raid.

Survival Hunter

It does not appear to be a good situation. Survival is probably in need of a rework in 10.2, as are some significant single-target buffs in 10.1.

This concludes our DPS tier list for raiding in WoW Dragonflight 10.1.
