Will Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving playing vs. Kings? Injury Report Mavericks

A pair of Western Conference teams in different situations as far as the playoffs go in the final week of the regular season take the floor in the Lone Star State.

On Wednesday night, the Sacramento Kings will take on the Dallas Mavericks in the second of a back-to-back on the road.

Update Injury for Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks lead the all-time regular season series 100-78, although this year’s two meetings ended in a tie.

The Dallas Mavericks’ recent collapse continued on Sunday at Atlanta, their seventh loss in their previous eight games.

On Tuesday, the Mavericks were 12.5 games behind the Grizzlies for the Southwest Division lead. They were 11th in the West, behind the Thunder by one game for the final playoff place.

  • Luka Doncic – Questionable Wednesday

On Wednesday against the Kings, Luka Doncic (thigh) is considered to play.

Doncic confirmed earlier on Tuesday that he intends to play on Wednesday, and his likely designation lends credence to that statement.

The All-Star point guard returned after a five-game absence to score 31.0 points, grab 9.0 boards, and dish out 8.9 assists in seven straight games.

Despite speculations to the contrary, Doncic and Irving will continue to play in every game for the rest of the regular season, even if Dallas is currently in 11th place in the Western Conference.

  • Kyrie Irving – Questionable

It is expected that Kyrie Irving (foot) will play in this game.

There has been talk of shutting down the point guard for the rest of the regular season as Irving deals with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

If making the Play-In Tournament is less possible on Friday (when they play the Bulls) or Sunday (when they play the Spurs), he may decide to sit out those games.

Until Dallas makes a final choice, however, Irving should keep suiting up and performing at a high level.

Irving missed four games in a row in the middle to late stages of March due to the foot issue, but he has played in all six games since, with his greatest effort coming on Sunday against the Hawks in overtime, when he scored 41 points on 16-for-27 shooting in 44 minutes.
