  • DK Metcalf

According to the team’s official injury report, Metcalf (knee) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

Furthermore, as per ESPN’s Brady Henderson, there is still no word on his accessibility for Sunday’s game against the Giants.

Metcalf was taken to the locker room late in the first half of the Seahawks’ 37-23 victory over the Chargers, and while the injury appeared to be serious, preliminary X-rays came back negative.

Despite the fact that he avoided surgery, Metcalf is unlikely to play this week, despite Pete Carroll’s optimism.

Fellow pass-catchers Tyler Lockett, Will Dissly, Noah Fant, and Marquise Goodwin all benefit from his potential absence.

Lockett and Dissly are the clear frontrunners for targets, but don’t be surprised if Goodwin puts in another strong performance.

UPDATE 2: According to Clarence Hill, Elliott (knee) is not expected to play this Sunday and may need to rest his knee for a few weeks.

UPDATE: According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Elliott (knee) did not practice on Thursday.

Per the beat writer Clarence E. Hill Jr, Ezekiel (knee) did suffer a Grade 2 MCL sprain and thigh bruise last week and is predicted to miss Sunday’s game against the Bears, though Elliott has indicated he still has an opportunity to play.

Given that Dallas has a bye in Week 9, it’s unlikely that Elliott will be risked.

The Cowboys will rely on Tony Pollard, who had a season-high 65 percent of offensive snaps against the Lions last week.

Pollard did a little bit of everything for the Cowboys’ offense, totaling 109 yards on 14 touches, and he should keep the momentum going against a Bears defense that allows the sixth-most fantasy points per game to running backs. Pollard is a simple RB1.

  • James Conner

UPDATE 2: Conner (ribs) has been ruled out of the game against Minnesota in Week 8.

UPDATE: According to AZ Sport’s Craig Grialou, Conner (ribs) was not present during the media portion of practice on Friday.

As per the beat writer Darren Urban, Conner (ribs) went back to training on Wednesday after missing the Cardinals’ previous two games.

Conner has not been able to replicate his production from last season, when he scored a career-high 15 rushing touchdowns.

When he’s healthy, however, the Cardinals know they can rely on him as their primary running back.

Conner will look to get back on track this week against a Vikings defense that ranks 16th in fantasy points per game allowed to running backs this season.

Eno Benjamin could still play, but Conner will be a borderline RB2 if he plays.
