The Lakers have devised a dream trade strategy to give LeBron James the best chance of winning the NBA championship

The Lakers are still one of the biggest names in the NBA, making them a desirable destination for many stars, even though their performance has dipped since winning the championship in 2020.

The Los Angeles Lakers are a force when all of their main stars are ready

LeBron James - Lakers

The Golden State Warriors once boasted a ‘death line-up,’ with a world-class group on the court, but the Los Angeles Lakers could go one better with a trade.

With the trade window now open, they’ve been linked with some big names, and it’s been suggested that they could put together a better team than the ‘death line-up’ that the Golden State Warriors had.

That may not come as a surprise, as it is with most sporting organizations, but LeBron James and Anthony Davis can truly hurt any opponent. James is still widely regarded as the greatest player of all time, and Davis has been unstoppable this season.

The Lakers should contend for the championship, but they risk missing the playoffs for the second year in a row. With James eager to return to NBA success, he’s not going to sit around and wait for something to happen, which could force the Lakers to make a big move.

According to The Athletic, the Lakers are interested in a number of players, the most recent of which are Bojan Bogdanovic, Evan Fournier, and Cam Reddish.

While the names of DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Kuzma, Myles Turner, Buddy Hield, Kyrie Irving, and Doug McDermott have been mentioned, the Lakers have a pipe dream.

If any of the three stars becomes available, the Lakers are interested in trading for one of Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, or Bradley Beal, and they could form a title-winning partnership.

There’s no reason they couldn’t mount a huge push with a huge injection of class, and it could even tower over the Warriors’ famous ‘death line-up’ of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Harrison Barnes, Andre Iguodala, and Draymond Green.

And with Durant or Beal, they could make an unlikely push, though it all depends on their availability. Durant might be the best option, with the Brooklyn Nets star requesting a trade as recently as the previous offseason.

The Nets star has also been accused of previously joining the Warriors in order to win a ‘cheap title’ while they were at full strength, but the situation with the Lakers is very different. If he joined and went on to turn things around, it would certainly gain respect.
