Singer and style icon Sky Ferreira has been named as the latest face of Redken hair products. Having previously fronted images for fashion house Saint Laurent and starred in a Forever21 campaign, Sky adds to her impressive portfolio as she appears in Redken’s Spring 2014 photos. Posing with retro curls in her peroxide blonde hair, Sky looks gorgeous with dramatic bright makeup which contrasts against the muted and pale tones in the photographs. Commenting on enlisting the singer, Redken Worldwide General Manager Shane Wolf stated that she “is the perfect choice for Redken.”
Leslie Marino, General Manager at Redken US, added that Sky is such a unique individual and she captures the spirit of New York City:
“She has an incredible spirit and a style all her own. She has a story to tell, and she’s not afraid to tell it… Sky embodies the energy of every New Yorker. NYC is a dynamic place where people come to reinvent themselves and share their story with the world.”
Sky says she grew up using Redkin’s products to tame her wild hair:
“I used to have really thick hair which I hated combing. My mum used to chase me around with a Redken bottle which I’d use to get rid of tangled strands.”
The singer adds that she likes to treat her hair while she sleeps at night:
“I have very dry hair so I like to leave my conditioner in for a long time- I often sleep with a Redken treatment in my hair. I also sleep on a silk pillow case which really helps to keep the hair smooth.”
