New Skull and Bones release date coming ‘very soon’

New Skull and Bones release dateThe release date of the pirate adventure game has been pushed back multiple times, with a new release window set for 2020. The game was scheduled to come out on March 9, 2023 for the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Amazon Luna, and PC, but Ubisoft said on Wednesday that it would be delayed. Skull and Bones will now be released “early” in the company’s next fiscal year, which begins in April and ends in March 2024.

The reason for the delay is so that Ubisoft can “showcase a much more polished and balanced experience and build awareness,” as the company explained. In a follow-up statement published on the game’s Twitter account, the company promised, “Additional information regarding our new release date and upcoming test phases will be shard with you all very soon.”

In addition, they stated, “Players will be able to discover the beauty of Skull and Bones in the upcoming beta phase. The additional time has already paid off and brought impressive improvements to its quality, which has been confirmed by recent playtests. We believe players will be positively surprised by its evolution.”

New gameplay footage will be shown during the January 13 Twitch stream, which begins at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT, with a focus on the game’s lore. The world of Skull and Bones was largely inspired by the Indian Ocean at the tail end of the 17th century, which was a heyday for piracy.
