MLB Rumor: No one will be surprised by the Yankees’ Josh Donaldson and Aaron Hicks trade updates

This is what Zunino had to say about working with Bo Naylor and assisting him in his preparation for a Major League career:

“I would do it with how veteran catchers have helped me in the past. Just be an open book, I mean it’s a position where it’s few and far between guys that get some opportunity to get to pass down some knowledge. So, I just want to help (Naylor) grow, I want to be a mentor to him, I’m looking forward to meeting him. I’m going to speak to him hopefully before Spring Training, you know just start that relationship.”

That’s exactly what fans of the Guardians should expect to hear from their new veteran catcher! He’s not doing it to compete for playing time or to outperform him, but Zunino wants to be a teacher for Naylor.

More MLB:

Zunino is here to help the Guardians both now and in the future by collaborating with Naylor. Working with him is clearly something Zunino considered before joining the Guardians, and he wants to do everything he can to assist Naylor.

Zunino, who is entering his tenth season in the MLB, has seen a lot. He was a part of the Mariners’ difficult seasons and the Rays’ World Series run in 2020.

This is an excellent learning opportunity for Naylor. It’s really nice and refreshing to see and hear Mike’s excitement about working with Bo.
