Mama June and Sugar Bear, also known as the two people responsible for being Honey Boo Boo in to this world, have made their love official in Georgia this weekend. The longtime couple decided to tie the knot in a small family get-together. Staying true to their usual style, they opted not to waste money on the fine trimmings, but opted for a barbecue following the low key ceremony which took place in their backyard. June commented on the day:
“The day was very special mostly because my girls were able to take part in it, I felt like it was important for them to see this moment and celebrate my love for Sugar Bear. “My sister baked the cake, and we spent most of the money on barbecue, we stayed true to our roots and made the focus on the family and my commitment to Sugar Bear. You can definitely plan an event on a budget!”
The colour theme even bucked convention: the wedding party wore camo and orange designs mixed together while June wore a camo print wedding dress (see the full dress over at HaveUHeard – it’s nothing short of… er.. amazing). Dishing out relationship advice to her daughters, June says to always look for someone who treats you right:
“Never settle for a man who doesn’t treat you right,” she says. “If a guy doesn’t love everything about you, move on! There are plenty of other fish in the sea. I give this advice to my daughters, because I always want them to be themselves and surround themselves with people who love them for them.”
