Kristen Stewart: “I Find Fashion Shoots Very Alienating”

‘Twilight’ actress Kristen Stewart has opened up on her subtle fashion sense, admitting that she “doesn’t know much” when it comes to all things sartorial and she often finds creating fashion editorials to be an “alienating” process, saying she isn’t a huge fan of fashion shoots in general. She prefers to feel comfortable when it comes to getting dressed and believes that her casual  fashion sense actually helps her to keep a low profile when she’s going out and about.

She adds that wearing a hoodie can help her get away from paparazzi easier:

“I don’t know much about fashion and don’t have particularly exquisite taste. I’ve never liked shopping and I don’t enjoy having my picture taken. In particular, I find fashion shoots very alienating. Of course you want to look good and wear something you feel comfortable in. I’m just more the type to blend into the background and I consciously present myself that way. That’s why I often won’t even get recognised, for example if I go out in a hoodie. It makes it easier to escape the madness sometimes.”

Despite not feeling particularly connected to fashion, Kristen has been the face of Chanel and is the current spokesperson for Balenciaga’s Florabotanica perfume. She believes the fragrance is more dangerous than the name suggests and she loves how the it evokes a certain mood:

“I’d never worn a scent before I tried Balenciaga Florabotanica, but like clothes can make you aware of different aspects of yourself so a smell can elevate you. There’s something hot about it – a little heated and slightly more dangerous than the name suggests.”
