Injury Report Knicks – Blazers: Will Jalen Brunson and Damian Lillard running on the court?

The New York Knicks meets the Portland Trail Blazers for the second and final time this regular season. The game will start at 10:00 PM ET.

Injury Update New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers

After losing three straight games to the Charlotte Hornets (112-105), Sacramento Kings (122-117) and Los Angeles Clippers (106-95), the New York Knicks (40-30; 39-29-2 ATS) beat the Los Angeles Lakers (112-108) on Sunday.

Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News says that Jalen Brunson is likely to miss Tuesday’s game in Portland because of a foot injury.

Tim Thibodeau, the team’s head coach, said before the game that Brunson is likely to miss the last game of the team’s road trip through the Western Conference on Tuesday in Portland.

Portland’s All-Star guard Damian Lillard missed Sunday’s loss in New Orleans because of an inflamed right calf, and his status for Tuesday’s game is still uncertain.

When Lillard didn’t play, the Trail Blazers were behind by as many as 39 points and had lost their last three games. They had also lost eight of their last 11 games. Without Lillard, Portland is only 5-9 so far this season.

Lillard has scored at least 20 points in each of his last 28 games. On February 26, he had 71 points against the Houston Rockets, which was his career high.

Lillard might not be able to play because of his calf. He will probably be looked at again after the Trail Blazers’ morning shootaround on Tuesday, and then the team will decide what to do about him before the game starts at 10 p.m. ET.

If Lillard can’t play against the Knicks, Anfernee Simons would probably move back to running point from shooting guard.

Due to a left quadriceps contusion, Jerami Grant’s status for Tuesday’s game against the Knicks is in doubt.

The injury may have limited Grant to just 19 minutes in Sunday’s game against the Pelicans. The Blazers will evaluate him at morning shootaround and pregame warmups to see if he is fit to play Tuesday night.
