In the midst of the most successful season of his young career, the guard for the Pacers sustained an injury during their game against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.

After limping off the court in the third quarter, he did not come back for the remainder of the game.

At the time, Haliburton was looking like he could start for the Eastern Conference All-Stars. He was averaging 20.3, 10.3 assists, 4.0 boards, and 1.8 steals per game.

What exactly is Tyrese Haliburton hurting with?

After falling awkwardly on a drive to the basket in the third quarter of the Pacers’ loss to the Knicks on January 11, Haliburton had to leave the game with an injury.

After getting by Knicks guard Quentin Grimes with a dribble combination, Haliburton went up for a layup but landed awkwardly while trying to break his fall. The play’s text is included below.

After the injury, Haliburton limped out of the game. Due to a “sore left knee,” the Pacers said he had to leave the game and did not return.

How long is Tyrese Haliburton expected to be sidelined?

Following the contest, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle informed the media that Haliburton suffered injuries to both his left knee and left elbow.

Carlisle is quoted as saying, “He’s going to leave the building on crutches, just so everybody is aware,”  in an article written by Michael Scotto for HoopsHype.  “He’ll get checked out (on Thursday, Jan. 12). We hope it’s not serious.”

You can count on the young point guard Andrew Nembhard to fill in for Haliburton as the team’s primary facilitator in the event that Haliburton is sidelined for any amount of time.

Nembhard is second among all rookies with 136 assists, trailing only the Pistons guard Jaden Ivey in this category (172).
