Genshin Impact Fontaine – Release date & characters leaks

What is the release date for the next Genshin Impact major expansion Fontaine, and which new characters will be included? Keep reading to learn more.

Genshin Impact Fontaine release date

Fontaine is expected to be released in Genshin Impact update 4.0, and a leak on Reddit earlier in 2022 suggested 3.7 might be the final update before then. If this leak is correct, the release dates should be as follows, assuming MiHoYo sticks to their six-week chapter duration:

  • Update 3.4 – January 18th
  • Update 3.5 – March 1st
  • Update 3.6 – April 12th
  • Update 3.7 – May 24th
  • Update 4.0 – July 5th

This is consistent with rumors that Fontaine will be released in July or August. However, as of this writing, this isn’t official because MiHoYo hasn’t even announced the new region.

New characters

On merlin impact’s Twitter account, there is a list of characters that have been leaked, two of which are allegedly for an upcoming Mondstadt update. Furthermore, the leaker may have given a hint as to which two of the characters will debut in the Mondstadt update rather than in version 4.0 and later.

In addition, several links to various images of the leaked characters have been shared on Reddit. You can see them at this link.

Keep in mind that none of the artwork is official as of this writing and is merely leaked.
