The Minnesota Timberwolves (40-40, 38-42-0 ATS) will play the San Antonio Spurs (21-59, 32-48-0 ATS) in their final regular-season road game. The game is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. EST.

Injury Update for Minnesota Timberwolves and an Antonio Spurs

The Minnesota Timberwolves have gained the advantage they need to make the playoffs, but there is still a lot at stake when they face the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday afternoon.

The Timberwolves (40-40) have two games left in the regular season and are currently ranked ninth in the Western Conference, putting them in line for the play-in tournament.

Even if they lose their final two games, the Timberwolves will not fall below the ninth seed, but they do have a chance to move up if they win and other results go their way.

Minnesota has been idle since Tuesday, when they defeated the Brooklyn Nets 107-102 on the road. Following Saturday’s game, the Timberwolves will return home for a season-ending game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday afternoon.

Anthony Edwards had a team-high 23 points against Brooklyn, Karl-Anthony Towns had 22, including a pair of late-game free throws that broke a tie, and the Timberwolves snapped a three-game losing streak.

Towns also had 14 rebounds, rebounding from a game in which he took only three shots and the Timberwolves lost.

Aside from Edwards and Towns, Spurs must keep an eye on Rudy Gobert in this match. Gobert’s recent performance has been criticized, but any degree of subjectivity is costly.

After a 129-127 win over Portland on Thursday, the Spurs return to their home away from home for the second of a two-game set in Austin.

The Spurs’ second win in three games kept them one game ahead of the last-place Houston Rockets.

For the Spurs (21-59), Keldon Johnson and Julian Champagnie each had 24 points, while Zach Collins had 21 points and 11 rebounds and Tre Jones had 18 points and 10 assists.

Johnson (foot) is listed as questionable for Saturday’s game against Minnesota, according to Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News.

Johnson returned from a two-game absence against the Trail Blazers on Thursday, but he is still dealing with a foot injury ahead of Saturday’s game.

If he’s available, it seems unlikely that he’ll be restricted significantly after playing 32 minutes against Portland.
