Warhammer 40K: Darktide – How to Complete the There is Nothing But the Abyss Penance

There is Nothing But the Abyss is one of many penances available only to the Zealot class in Warhammer 40K: Darktide; here’s how to finish it.

How to Finish There is Nothing But the Abyss in Darktide

This penance requires you to heal to full health using only life gained from the Holy Revenant feat after it triggers, all on difficulty four, Heresy. This primarily applies to the Zealot Preacher’s Until Death passive, which allows it to survive for a short period of time after taking fatal damage. This makes this challenge extremely situational, but it also comes with a few ways for you to easily trigger it.You can use Holy Revenant Feat to double the amount of healing you receive. Normally, we’d recommend using a high-cleave melee weapon, but given that the Devil’s Claw Sword and both Heavy Swords aren’t in great shape as of writing, you might want to stick with another of the Zealot’s options. For a challenge like this, we’d recommend one of the many Axes, preferably not the Chainaxe, because we don’t want such concentrated single-target damage.

For feats, we recommend the followings:

  • Level 5: Enemies Within, Enemies Without
  • Level 10: Retribution
  • Level 15: Inspiring Excoriation
  • Level 20: Holy Revenant
  • Level 25: Honour the Martyr
  • Level 30: Purge the Wicked

This feat build capitalizes on the need to be low on health by significantly increasing your attack speed. Purge the Wicked was also chosen because of the bonuses it provides when used. At level 25, you could switch Honour the Martyr for Rising Conviction, but we believe Honour the Martyr will deal more immediate damage.

That’s all. The only other thing you should probably do is join a mission with Endless Horde, as the extra hordes will give you more chances to increase your health. Using everything else should grant you the There is Nothing But the Abyss penance in Darktide!
