How to Get the Mind-Archive Interface in Baldur’s Gate 3

The Mind-Archive interface is a fascinating device found in the Mind Flayer Colony region of Baldur’s Gate 3. This console allows players to interact with various “Mind” items found throughout the game world. However, players must first locate the Mind-Archive before they can make use of it.

The Mind-Archive interface always appears next to a Slack-Skinned Head within the alien infrastructure of the Mind Flayers.

How to Use the Mind-Archive Interface in Baldur’s Gate 3

Once you’ve found a Mind-Archive interface, you can start using it by gathering Mind items from around the world. Minds like the Waking Mind, Fresh Mind, Dark Mind, and True Mind can be looted from various locations.

Bring a Mind to the Mind-Archive console and insert it to activate the device. This will allow you to converse with the nearby Slack-Skinned Head as if it were the Mind’s owner. You can explore the Mind’s thoughts and memories.

In particular, inserting the Waking Mind and choosing to “purge” it during the conversation will grant you a permanent buff. This Githzerai Mind Barrier gives you Advantage on Intelligence Saving Throws – a useful edge against Mind Flayers!

However, some players report the Mind-Archive conversations bugging out after a Mind is inserted. Try saving before using the device if you experience issues. When functional, the Mind-Archive offers lore insights and buffs for daring Baldur’s Gate 3 explorers.
