The leak originates from the ResetEra Forums, and it demonstrates the slightly revamped user interface, the opening cutscenes, a small amount of gameplay footage, some in-game items, some combat, and more. Though the video doesn’t reveal much that hasn’t already been announced, it does feature some gameplay elements that haven’t been seen in official trailers

Frey Holland, the protagonist of Forspoken, is a young woman from New York who finds herself in Athia, a beautiful but cruel land. She must use her newly acquired magical abilities to navigate the world and fight off the monstrous creatures that live there while she searches for a way back home.

Forspoken finally arrives on PS5 and PC on January 24 after a few delays. In December, Square Enix released a demo for the PS5, and on Tuesday, they released an update to the demo with a slew of new features. The update added the ability to map buttons, made it so that locked-on enemies that move off-screen remain locked-on for longer, adjusted text sizes, and addressed “various technical issues.”

“We’ve been listening to your reactions and feedback on the demo and we wanted to do whatever we could during this time to make the demo as enjoyable of an experience as possible,” said Forspoken creative producer Raio Mitsuno.

This week, Square Enix also shared the game’s recommended, minimum, and ultra PC specifications. They were revealed together with a PC features trailer, which can be viewed below.

When it comes to visual quality, the publisher promises “the highest quality visuals ever seen in an open world game” in Forspoken, which will be a PlayStation console exclusive for at least two years.

Even though there is a lot of controversy about Forspoken on the internet, including its high PC system requirements, use of Denuvo DRM, late release of review embargo, and more, the hype for the game is still very real for many fans who pre-ordered the game and have been eagerly awaiting its release for quite some time.
