Over the last few years, the MCU’s Phase Four has provided audiences with a slew of films, beginning with Black Widow. Eternals and Thor: Love and Thunder have since proven to be divisive within the fandom and among general audiences.

Nonetheless, the phase will end with one of Marvel Studios’ most anticipated blockbusters to date, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The first film, directed by Ryan Coogler, was a huge success in 2018, and Chadwick Boseman’s titular portrayal of T’Challa received a lot of praise. Tragically, he died in 2020, and the world is still mourning his loss.

With Ryan back at the helm, the sequel is expected to pay homage to both the actor and the character, with speculation abounding ahead of the film’s world premiere on Wednesday, October 26th 2022.

WARNING: SPOILERS

And we all have the same question: Will Doctor Doom stay in Wakanda Forever?

Doctor Doom does not make his debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The Direct previously reported on rumors that the film will feature the iconic Marvel Comics villain most often associated with the Fantastic Four.

It was speculated that he would appear in a post-credits scene. However, this has now been proven false.

The film has only one mid-credits scene, which does not tease or introduce Doctor Doom. Because this is the final film in Phase Four, followed only by The Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special, it’s safe to say that the adversary isn’t ready to be introduced just yet.

REACTION TO DOCTOR DOOM’S DISAPPEARANCE

Following the film’s world premiere, a number of Marvel news and fan sites on Twitter reacted to Doom’s absence.

They have weighed in on some of the film’s specifics:

On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Danai Gurira (Okoye) and Letitia Wright (Shuri) discussed Wakanda Forever, with Jimmy asking if Doom appears at the end of the film.

“I heard that… the rumor is that the end credits, we have Doctor Doom and I’ve heard on very good authority, and maybe this is news to you too, Doctor Doom will be played by Adam Sandler,” he put forward.

“You know, I want to see the movie you’ve been told about,” Gurira replied, with Letitia asking “What is that? Yeah.”

Gurira joked that “… We need to get this made. I hope the right people are watching.”
