Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, is working on a new TV series for Apple TV+ that will star Emmy-nominated Rhea Seehorn, who played Kim Wexler on Better Call Saul.

Per the Deadline, this new Vince Gilligan TV show has been ordered straight to series for two seasons, illustrating Apple’s faith in Gilligan, the concept, and Rhea Seehorn.

There are no plot information available at this time, but Seehorn’s character will be a “hero,” as compared to the “antiheroes” depicted in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

The following statement was provided by Gilligan:

“After fifteen years, I figured it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes… and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn? It’s long past time she had her own show, and I feel lucky to get to work on it with her. And what nice symmetry to be reunited with Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht and Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say yes to ‘Breaking Bad’ all those years ago. They’ve built a great team at Apple, and my wonderful, long-time partners at Sony Pictures Television and I are excited to be in business with them.”

Jeff Frost and Diane Mercer will also serve as executive producers on Gilligan’s new Apple TV show, which he will executive produce and showrun.

Sony Pictures Television and Jenn Carroll of Gilligan’s High Bridge Productions are producing.

It’s unclear what the show will be about at this point, but it’s described as a “blended, grounded genre drama.”

According to Deadline, the budget for each episode could range between $13.5M and $15M.

There is no set release date. Regardless, the series will almost certainly be good, as Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are two of the best shows of all time.
