Love Island fans discover “rookie” Photoshop error in new series launch group shot

A photo of this year’s contestants together was posted to Love Island’s official Twitter and Instagram accounts after the contestants were announced.

Observant Internet users have noticed a major Photoshop mishap in the promotional image of the new contestants

After this year’s contestants were announced, a group shot of them all together was shared on Love Island’s official Twitter and Instagram pages – where eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot a “rookie” error.

Tanya Manhenga, 22, is one of the photo’s stars; she’s the one standing on the sidewalk, striking a pose while flashing the peace sign. Once you zoom in, though, you’ll notice that there’s a second, faded image of Tanya’s hand right above the real one.

One Twitter user caught on, and while circling the error, joked, “someone’s getting fired.”

‘is the hand supposed to be edited like that on the girl with yellow on?’ asked another.

Others chimed in, “Photoshop editing fail above the peace sign!!” and “They definitely got the intern to make the photoshop picture, rookie mistake.”

“her peace sign is flying away,” another jokingly put it.

Despite the abundance of new contestants, fans of the show are keeping their fingers crossed that another former Love Island star will return to the show like Adam Collard did last year.

Maya, the host, expressed her desire to see Theo again by saying, “Theo! I found him hilarious. That line about ‘leave with them’ – it was that.

“We were all feeling it and Theo actually said it. You need that honesty sometimes!”

Theo Campbell starred on the third season of Love Island and was coupled up with Tyla Carr.

After the show, he went on to date season four star Kaz Crossley. While they were together Theo suffered a horror injury in Ibiza, leaving him partially blind after a champagne cork flew into his eye.

The 28-year-old has been heralded as a brilliant choice for the hosting role before she has even taken the stage.

An insider claims that despite Maya’s best efforts to inject her own personality into the role, she resembles Caroline Flack in many ways, particularly in her charismatic presentation style.

After five seasons as host, Caroline will step down in 2020 and be replaced by Laura Whitmore, at least temporarily. After Caroline’s tragic death in February 2020, Laura remained in the role.

The source explained: “She’s quite similar to Caroline in the sense that she hasn’t had the most smooth-sailing love life. She’s very warm and relatable. She wants to be on the girls’ level and support them, as she’s gone through heartache.

“She’ll be really sensitive with them all. That’s part of the reason why bosses wanted her. She’s proven she’s a very good presenter. She’s very likeable.”

Maya was engaged to basketball player Ben Simmons in March of 2019 after dating rapper Stormzy from 2015 to 2019.

After eight months of dating, the couple broke off their engagement in August of last year.
