Gibson was listed as out on Friday’s final injury report by Washington due to foot/knee injuries that head coach Ron Rivera described as a “sprain.”

Gibson has appeared in every game this season, averaging 13 offensive touches per game. Gibson is also Washington’s primary kick returner, which has helped the team.

“They were doing a lot with him,” Rivera told reporters on Friday. “They actually got him running in the hydro worksand, I believe, and it wasn’t as fluid as we needed it to be.”

In Gibson’s absence, Jonathan Williams will play a larger role in the backfield behind Brian Robinson Jr. To add depth, Washington will most likely call up Jaret Patterson from the practice squad. The Browns are ranked 25th against the run.

Gibson has rushed for 546 yards and three touchdowns this season and caught 46 passes for 353 yards and two touchdowns.
