In a wardrobe malfunction live on American Idol, Katy Perry flashed her boobs on camera

As a result of a wardrobe malfunction on American Idol, Katy Perry was forced to duck for cover behind her desk to conceal her modesty.

In the midst of Roman Collins’ performance, the 39-year-old’s top broke off, forcing her to hide behind her desk.

The host of the show, Ryan Seacrest, quips: “Katy, don’t cut yourself!”.

“I need my top to stay on!” Katy shouted in response. “If it’s not fixed, this show is going to get more than it wanted.”

The show’s production team helped Katy regain her composure after she initially protected her modesty with a cushion.

In response to Roman singing It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World by James Brown, she told him: “That song… um… broke my top off… I guess it is a woman’s world!”

The other judge, Luke Bryan, added: “Ratings, ratings, ratings! Here we come, ratings!” Katy joked, “It’s a family show!

After the incident, Katy posted footage to her Instagram account with the caption: “My top broke #idol.”

A follower wrote: “Maybe put on real clothes instead of dressing like the Tin Man!”

Another said: “Don’t wear a ship anchor to a tv show!”

Another added: “That’s not just a top, that’s a bumper.”

Others, meanwhile, sided with the Roar singer, exclaiming: “You’d look better without it.”

Another commented, “You are always the star.”

A third said, “Mom, you should start a broadcast channel.”

In another video last month, Perry can be seen strapped into her costume and strapping on a corset, while also focusing on a scarred-looking prosthetic on her lower back.

To complete her eye-catching outfit, she added a pair of sky-high black stilettos, a tight red strapless bustier, and a long matching skirt that fell to her ankles.

According to the caption, Katy Perry wrote the Crazy Town lyrics: “You’re my butterfly, sugar, baby,”
