How will the Mortal Kombat 1992 characters appear in HD?

Although the recently released Mortal Kombat has gotten a lot of attention, the franchise’s roots have not been forgotten, and a fan has uploaded a video showing how the main characters from the original game would look if they were given an HD upgrade.

A Twitter user by the name of afredenucci_ recently posted a clip of the original Mortal Kombat fighters striking their iconic poses. There is a high-definition update version of each next to the original. Even though actors were digitally inserted into the game for the 1992 release, the technology at the time was still fairly primitive, so the characters looked a lot like video game avatars. All the same, their classic appearances are preserved in these high-definition updates.

Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled for release on September 19, and it will serve as a soft reboot for the series. The game is written to follow the 2019 release of the eleventh installment in the series. Intriguingly, MK co-creator Ed Boon is also involved with the new installment as creative director. In the beginning, when working on their ultra violent fighting game with writer and designer John Tobias, the two probably had no idea how influential their work would become.

The cast of characters in Mortal Kombat is also widely recognized. Many of these actors have become instant classics in the gaming world. The MK franchise has featured many fan favorites over the years, and it looks like that trend will continue with characters like Scorpion and Sonya Blade.
