How to play MW2 split screen on console and check your K/D ratio

In this article, we’ll show you how to play MW2 split screen on console, as well as how to check your K/D ratio and other stats.

Can You Play Split Screen in MW2 Multiplayer ?

The answer is yes, you can play split screen in MW2 Multiplayer. However, as of this writing, not all modes will be available for play and it is only available on the PS4 and Xbox One. Split screen was missing from the Modern Warfare 2 beta, so it’s safe to assume it won’t be included in the new game as well. Unless Activision expressly states otherwise.

It’s also very simple to set up; simply follow these steps on both platforms (PlayStation and Xbox):

  • Get your friend on a second controller plugged into the main console.
  • Sign into their PlayStation or Xbox Account
  • If no account is available, you can use a guest login, which should suffice. However, you can only play in modes like private match or Firing Range.
  • After logging in, choose your preferred game modes and start looking for lobbies. It should be noted that the second player must be linked to an active Xbox or PlayStation subscription.

How to check your K/D ratio and other stats

While the K/D ratio isn’t the most important number for any player, it’s something that every CoD player has looked at at some point while playing the latest game in the franchise. K/D is still king in Modern Warfare 2, so players are eager to see how they compare to their friends and others around the world.

Surprisingly, there does not appear to be any way to look up player stats, at least on day one of the game, after some close inspection of the many confusing menus in the MW2 user interface. It’s a stunning revelation for which there is currently no answer or explanation.

Within hours of the game’s global release, players were posting on social media, perplexed as to where their statistics could be found. Everyone quickly came to the same conclusion that they are not easily accessible anywhere in the game.

In most CoD games, statistics are kept in the Barracks section. However, that is not present in MW2. Home, Social, and Progression are the only menu options. It’s possible that the stats area is broken, or that it hasn’t yet been added to the game.

For the time being, all we can do is wait for updates from Infinity Ward on when or if statistics will be added to the game in the near future.
