Escape from Tarkov Customs Map Guide: Extract Points, Risk Areas, Best Loot Locations & More

Escape from Tarkov’s Customs map is often considered a newbie playground, but don’t be fooled by its deceptively open fields. This guide will equip you with the knowledge to navigate its risks, reap its rewards, and emerge victorious.

Escape from Tarkov Customs Map Guide

Customs is a great map for new players because it is relatively easy to learn. The map is divided into several different areas, including Dorms, Old Gas, Big Red, and Factory. Each area has its own unique loot and scav spawns.

Extracts Points

Understanding extraction points is crucial for successful raids. In Customs, extraction sites are scattered along the map’s outer edges, with exceptions like ‘ZB-013’ requiring the Factory Emergency Exit key. Additionally, the ‘Dorms’ area offers a car-based extract point with a paywall. Knowing these locations is vital for planning efficient escapes.

Dangerous Areas

Of course, no map in Escape from Tarkov is without its risks. Customs is no exception. The areas where you’ll find the most loot are also the areas where you’re most likely to run into other players. This is especially true of Dorms, which is a popular spot for both scavs and PMCs.

If you are looking for a challenge, head to one of these areas. If you are just looking to loot and extract, it is best to stick to the outskirts of the map.

Best Loot Spots

Customs boasts various loot hotspots, making it a treasure trove for scavengers. Some noteworthy locations include:

  • Crackhouse (Glass): Featuring medical items, intelligence, and consumables.
  • Stronghold: Offering a mix of medical items, weapons, food, and crafting supplies.
  • Warehouses: Rich in weapons, armor, computer equipment, and crafting items.
  • Garage (Streamer Room): Providing food, computer equipment, crafting items, and medical supplies.

While specific areas offer specialized loot, Customs ensures consistent rewards across the map, making it a prime destination for quest items and crafting components.

Tasks

There are a number of tasks that can be completed on Customs. These tasks can be a good way to learn the map and earn some rewards. Some of the most popular Customs tasks include:

  • Background Check (Prapor)
  • Delivery from the Past (Prapor)
  • BP Depot (Prapor)
  • Bad Rep Evidence (Prapor)
  • Shaking up the Teller (Prapor)
  • The Punisher – Part 3 (Prapor)
  • Polikhim Hobo (Prapor)
  • Big Customer (Prapor)

Bosses

Customs is also home to formidable bosses, each presenting unique challenges.

  • Reshala
  • The Goons
  • Cultists

Reshala is the easiest of the three bosses to defeat. He usually spawns in Dorms, but he can also appear in New Gas. He has a team of crack soldiers guarding him, but they’re not too difficult to take down.

The Goons are a much tougher trio of enemies. They spawn in various locations around the map and have a wide range of tactics. If you see them, it’s best to avoid them or run away.

The Cultists are the most difficult boss to kill on Customs. They spawn at night and are incredibly stealthy. They will charge at you with poisoned knives or shoot at you from the darkness. If you’re not careful, you can easily be killed by them.

I hope this guide has helped you learn more about the Customs map in Escape from Tarkov. Good luck with your raids!
