Dread Templar will leave early access later this month and receive a full release after being in development since 2021. The details are as follows:

After being delayed from its original release window of Fall 2022, the full game is now expected to arrive on the market on January 26, 2023. The PC version can be purchased from Steam, Epic Games Store, or Good Old Games.

Dread Templar is a niche retro game that pays homage to popular FPS games from the 1990s. That was an unusual and middling period for the genre, with burgeoning mechanics still being defined and graphics not quite up to par. However, Dread Templar demonstrates that your nostalgia is justified, as its stylized trailers continue to impress. It does, however, intend to incorporate modern mechanics and concepts, bolstering the setting and making it more accessible to new audiences.The game’s early access version has been well received by players. However, Dread Templar is only available in English and is restricted to a small number of missions. And since Dread Templar has been in early access for so long, it may take some time to get new players interested in the full release.

According to the official Steam page, the full release will include nearly double the amount of content and a number of new languages. An official blog post today expanded on this, confirming that text localization will be available in nine languages. It will be interesting to see how this niche genre is received by non-English audiences.

Additionally, there will be “improved storytelling passages,” which is somewhat ambiguous but sounds promising. It appears to imply additional content, but it may simply mean that the developers polished the existing story.
