Destiny 2 Prolonged Engagement – God Roll & How to Get It

Unlike seasonal or world pool weapons, new added weapons in Season of the Seraph are easy to obtain. Prolonged Engagement is one of them, and this topic discusses how to obtain it as well as the best god rolls for it in Destiny 2.

How to Get Prolonged Engagement in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Prolonged EngagementTo obtain Prolonged Engagement, you must participate in Vanguard Ops, which can be chosen by the director. When you complete Vanguard Ops, formerly strikes, there is a chance that Prolonged Engagement will drop for you.

Furthermore, you can obtain this SMG by leveling up at Zavala in the Tower, as well as unlocking more perks on Prolonged Engagement. More perks mean potentially better rolls, so working with Zavala to rank up is a good idea. You’ll most likely participate in Nightfalls throughout the season, allowing you to double up and farm two things at the same time (Nightfall exclusive weapons and Prolonged Engagement).

Prolonged Engagement God Rolls

PVP

  • Fluted Barrel
  • Ricochet Rounds
  • Killing Wind or Dynamic Sway Reduction
  • Rangefinder or Pugilist
  • Masterwork: Range

If you can get into the effective range of Prolonged Engagement, it may be able to deal some damage. In the third column, Killing Wind is probably your best option, though Dynamic Sway Reduction is also an option. In the fourth column, we have the classic Crucible perk, Rangefinder. Pugilist, which goes in the opposite direction, is another option if you want to get up close and personal.
PVE

  • Corkscrew Rifling
  • Ricochet Rounds
  • Subsistence
  • Frenzy or Headstone
  • Masterwork: Handling

Prolonged Engagement has a lot going for it as a light Stasis SMG. The Veist Stinger Origin Trait is one of the best in the game; the lightweight frame improves mobility while the weapon is equipped, and being a Stasis weapon means it has synergy with Stasis subclasses. We’re essentially dealing with a Stasis Funnelweb here, albeit one with a much larger perk pool. Nonetheless, many of those perks are fantastic.

In the third column, you can select one of three fantastic ammo economy perks: Subsistence, Feeding Frenzy, or Outlaw. Subsistence is the best combo with Veist Stinger, in my opinion. You have a lot of great damage perks in the fourth column. The obvious choice here is Frenzy, and the classic Funnelweb roll is Subsistence/Frenzy. However, Headstone is another excellent option, particularly for Stasis subclasses that benefit from creating and destroying crystals.

Overall, it appears that Prolonged Engagement has the potential to be a lot of fun in PVE. Despite the fact that SMGs excel in lower-level content and have little impact in Grandmaster Nightfalls and other content at that level, it’s a fun weapon with a lot of potent options.
