During filming a part for the glamorous awards presentation at the beginning of February, the A-list combo was seen having a fairly unpleasant exchange, which quickly went viral on the internet.

The Get Right singer allegedly “snapped” at her husband Ben, 50, when they “didn’t realize the cameras were rolling,” as the story goes.

Now, more than a month after the awkward TV moment, Ben is speaking out to correct the record.

The actress said, “I saw [host Trevor] and I was like, ‘Oh God.’ They were framing us in this shot, but I didn’t know they were rolling,”

“I leaned into her and I was like as soon they start rolling, I’m going to slide away from you and leave you sitting next to Trevor.'”

In his words, as reported by THR: “[JLo] goes, ‘You better f***ing not leave.” In other words,”that’s a husband-and-wife thing.”

At one point in the original footage, Ben can be seen leaning in close to Jennifer and whispering in her ear. Then, she leaves in a hurry.

After realizing that the cameras were directed at her, she perked up and began laughing at Trevor’s jokes, which completely altered her demeanor.

In a second image, Ben appears to be having a conversation with Jennifer, but she seems to ignore him as she starts looking at her phone on the table.

“JLo showed Ben Affleck the phone and was like, ‘Oh my god, honey. Look at this meme circulating about you’ and he was like, ‘Oh god, this again’.

“He knew during the performance that he was a meme. He knew and just chose not to change his expression.”

There was so much interest in the alleged drama that lip readers and empty seats joined in.

A passenger who was asked to fill an empty seat took to TikTok to clarify the situation, which wasn’t as bad as it was made out to be.
