Autumn/Winter 2014 Makeup Trend: Blush Tone Eyeshadow

The Autumn/Winter 2014 Fashion Weeks may still be underway, but there are already several makeup trends that stand out for the season. One of the most obvious looks that was seen on several catwalks so far was blush tone eyeshadow – and thankfully it’s a wearable and flattering beauty look that anyone can try. Flattering creamy complexions with pink hues and darker skintones with deeper pinks mixed with a tint of bronze. Seen already at New York Fashion Week on the catwalks of Suno and Diane Von Furstenberg, the look was also spotted at the Jonathan Saunders show in London. Feminine and pretty, this makeup trend can be worn casually or in a more dramatic tone or style for nightwear.

To try the look, why not turn a powder blusher in to an eyeshadow? Apply to your upper lids and fan out in a light smoky effect around the eyes. There are also several beauty companies who already have eyeshadows available in blush tones if you’d like to invest in a product for the season ahead. Coordinate with blushed cheekbones as seen on the catwalk. Keep the rest of the beauty look toned down with dewy skin and nude lips. To add drama for nightwear, try a bolder pink shade in a deeper tone or even a brighter hue. Adding structured or penciled-in eyebrows can also bring the blush tone look in to evening and adds more structure to your face too. Sample blushes and shadows on your hand first to find your perfect shade – the right colour will make you look more alert and glowing so choose wisely.
