On Sunday, Siposs was tackled at the end of a 13-yard gain, resulting in a lower-leg injury. The Giants blocked a punt, and Siposs ran with the bouncing football.

Siposs is in his second season as a Philadelphia punter after spending his first NFL season on the practice squad of the Detroit Lions behind Pro Bowler Jack Fox.

Siposs punted for Auburn in 2018 and 2019, averaging 44.0 yards on 117 attempts.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni stated on Monday afternoon that the team is more “hopeful” about safety Reed Blankenship than punter Arryn Siposs.

“Arryn’s is going to look like it’s going to be a little bit longer than we expected,” Sirianni stated regarding the punter’s injury, “and so we will have to bring somebody in. Don’t really know how long it’s going to be. But we’ll obviously bring somebody in, and we’re working through that right now.”

Blankenship, an undrafted rookie from Middle Tennessee, saw his first significant playing time with the Philadelphia defense on Nov. 27 when C.J. Gardner-Johnson suffered a rib injury in the first quarter and Blankenship came in to intercept Aaron Rodgers in the Eagles’ 40-33 victory over the Packers.

Blankenship had started the two games since then, but he left Sunday’s game with a knee injury that NFL Network described as a low-grade sprain.

“Reed’s done a really nice job,” According to Sirianni. “I think that’s been very evident that Reed has played good football while he’s been in there. It was a shame that he had to leave yesterday’s game because every snap that Reed gets it feels like he just keeps getting better with every snap that he gets in his young career. Hopefully, he’ll be back soon and continue to get those reps.

“The things Reed’s done since he’s stepped into the lineup have been really nice. He can hit, he can cover, he can take the ball away. He’s smart, he’s fast, he’s physical. And we’re happy we have him, that’s for sure.”
