Cleveland Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets most recent injury report

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets met in the play-in tournament last year.

This time, the Cavaliers (45-28) are in a good spot to start the first round at home, while the Nets (39-32) are trying to stay in the top six of the Eastern Conference to avoid a play-in game.

When the teams play back-to-back games in New York starting Tuesday night, Cleveland can improve its position and hurt the Nets. Thursday night will be the second game in the set.

As of Monday’s games, Cleveland is 2 1/2 games ahead of the fifth-place New York Knicks and will be going to Brooklyn.

The Cavaliers have stayed in fourth place by winning seven of their last 10 games. Before that, they lost three games in a row from February 15 to 24.

In nine of its last 11 games, including Friday’s 117-94 win over the Washington Wizards on the road, Cleveland has scored at least 110 points.

Even though they missed 15 of their 19 3-point attempts, the Cavaliers still shot 55.2 percent from the field, making it the 12th time this season that they shot at least 55 percent.

Donovan Mitchell scored 20 points in Friday’s win, even though he missed all six 3-point shots he took.

Mitchell has only made one of 19 three-point shots in his last three games, but he has scored 40 points three times in his last eight games.

On Tuesday, will Ben Simmons be participating in the game?

Simmons won’t be able to play Tuesday against the Cavaliers because of his knee and back, says Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News.

Since February 15, Simmons hasn’t played. He just recently started doing things on the court again, but he still doesn’t know when he will be able to play in games. Simmons’s next chance to play will be Thursday, when Cleveland comes back to play again.
