While some people never really know if motherhood is for them, others have always known that one day they want a family and they want to be mothers. These 5 stars all knew early on that they want to have children in the future. Some have since welcomed at least one child, while it’s definitely on the cards for the others. Newly wed Anne Hathaway recently talked openly about wanting to have children as soon as possible because she’s always wanted to be a mother, while Kelis believes motherhood has completely changed her and it’s always something she has wanted to be a part of but she didn’t know why until it happened to her.
Anne Hathaway
Anne, who recently tied the knot, says she has always wanted to be a mother ever since she was a teenager: ”I’ve wanted to be a mom since I was 16. But I also wanted to have a career, so I have been chomping at the bit to be a mother for a really long time. I also had to find a baby daddy first – which I now have.”
Charlize Theron
Charlize, who recently adopted a baby boy, says she always knew: “I’ve always been very honest in saying I wanted a family. I’ve always known I wanted a family. I don’t think my mom could wait any more!”Charlize says she hopes “to be like my mom. Fair, tough, loving and supportive. My mom has made it possible for me to be who I am. Our family is everything. Her greatest skill was encouraging me to find my own person and own independence”.

Claudia wanted to have a family just like her own: “I come from a big family, and I always wanted to have kids of my own. Before I met Matthew, I worked non-stop. But once we got together, suddenly a whole new world seemed to open up. And when I had my first child, my priorities became completely different. Motherhood made me feel, ‘This is what I’m all about.’ You stop worrying. Matthew and I are a team, we make all our decisions together, whether it’s about the children or the house. We’re not divided in any sense.”
Kelis
Kelis says that she’s always desired motherhood but only after she had her son did she understand it: “I always wanted to be a mother because that’s what women do, but not because I really understood what it meant. Now I understand it’s the most amazing thing in the world. There’s nothing burdensome about it, it’s just the most amazing privilege, it’s a real gift from God and it’s amazing. I don’t think anyone ever explained it to me that way. You can’t really prepare for it. No one can tell you how intense the love is, and how rewarding it is.”
Miranda Kerr
Miranda has always been open about wanting kids and thinks other model moms find a great balance: “I’ve always been open about wanting to be a mother one day, and I’ve always thought Orlando would be a great dad. I think having children and pregnancy is a part of life. I look at how models like Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio have done it and made it a part of their lives.”
