5 Stars Who’ve Kept Their Fame Hidden From Their Kids!

Keeping their fame quiet so their children can live normally for as long as possible, these 5 stars have all opted to keep their stardom under wraps and haven’t explained to their kids that they’re famous or what that means. Wanting their children to grow up without having to worry about the spotlight, these celebrities all decided that it would be best if their offspring didn’t know about their work just yet. Perhaps hoping that their kids can continue to stay unaffected by their parent’s huge fame, these celebrities are doing their best to help their kids live happy, normal lives while ignoring the spotlight – at least until they are older and might understand everything that comes with their parent’s fame.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina’s kids often get confused when they see her at work on set because they don’t understand what she’s doing: “Pax got upset because someone was trying to hurt his mom. He saw my feet wrapped and he got mad. But then I explained to him that I’m fine. They’re very confused, to be honest. I think they don’t quite know what to think. Even the change of hair colour is confusing for them.”

The Game

Rapper The Game wants his children to be kept out of the spotlight: “I don’t think they have an idea. They (are) seven and almost three, they don’t have any idea, man. I don’t think they really get it yet. I keep my kids as far away from my rap career as possible. Harlem, he’s the oldest, seven, and he still doesn’t even know. I asked him just two days ago: ‘Do you know daddy’s name?’ He’s like, ‘Jayceon’. I’m like, ‘No, my other name.’ He’s like, ‘Game.’ I’m like, ‘Why you think they call me Game?’ He’s like, ‘Cause you play video games?’ I started busting out laughing and he’s like, ‘What?’ I’m like, ‘I rap.’ He’s like, ‘Aww… whatever.'”

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth tries not to let her kids know that she is famous but they are starting to find out: “My kids have never seen me in anything. They don’t know what I do – or rather, Apple does now because people in her class know and they say, ‘Oh, I saw you in a magazine.’And you’re like, ‘Oh God. I’ll have to deal with all these questions that will inevitably be coming,’ but I try to separate it. I mean, they know I work but they think I do singing, which is hilarious. They probably saw me for a year practising my guitar and singing and they think that’s my job. I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’ They know I’m in movies and stuff, but I don’t think they really fully get it and I don’t show them or really get into it. But when I go away of course I have to explain what I’m going to do, and they’re still really young.”

Jack Black

Jack has never told his children about his job so doesn’t bring them to events with him: “I didn’t bring my babies because they don’t know I’m famous yet. I’m trying to keep it well-hid. They’re like, ‘Whatever. Daddy’s Daddy.’ They think I’m a salesman.”

Nicole Richie
