Going through a very public divorce must be incredibly difficult – constantly asked about the subject in interviews while suffering through the heartbreak, celebrities must have an even harder time getting through their divorces while coping with the pressure of fame. These 5 stars have candidly commented on the pain of divorce, speaking on what they went through and how they’ve moved past the difficult situation.
Amber said while going through her divorce: “The pain…I wake up every morning feeling like my best friend died….. I never knew what a true heartache felt like until now.”
Amy said about the worries she discovered during her divorce: “Imagine spreading everything you care about on a blanket and then tossing the whole thing up in the air. The process of divorce is about loading up that blanket, throwing it up, watching it all spin, and worrying what stuff will break when it lands.”
Jennifer said it was the worst thing she’s ever been through: “I wanted it to help me grow for the better. I didn’t want to just survive it; I wanted to come out of it stronger than I was before. It took a lot of digging to do that. Right now I’d say it was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through, because of the kids.”
Liv commented on her heartbreak: “There is nothing worse than heartache, being lovesick. It’s worse than physical pain. You go through a couple of weeks where you think ‘Oh, I’m okay, I feel better’, and then suddenly, out of nowhere, it hits you again. The hardest part is when they leave. It also brings up a lot of issues: you might feel like a failure, or like there is something wrong with you.”
Following her divorce, Scarlett said that it takes time to heal: “I don’t feel on the other side of it completely, but it gets better. It’s still there. More than anything, it’s just that not having your buddy around all the time is weird. There’s no rule book. I think it’s just time.”
