5 Stars Who Don’t Believe in Rushing Into Marriage

These 5 celebrities don’t believe in rushing into marriage. With so many divorces reported in Hollywood, it’s easy to see why these stars are more reluctant to rush down the aisle, and they want to find the perfect person they can stay with for the rest of their lives before they make such a huge commitment because they want it to last when they finally do stay ‘I do’! Some have since tied the knot after waiting several years to make sure they’re both ready, while others are young and feel that they have plenty of time to find their true love that they can make it last with. Romantic at heart, these 5 celebs don’t want to hurry into anything but will do it when the time is right.

Alyson Hannigan

Alyson was advised by her mother to take it slowly: ”My mom, Emilie, always taught me to think hard about marriage. Her own, to my father, ended when I was  two. So she said, ‘Take your time.’ I met Alex, who played Wesley Wyndam-Pryce in the series (‘Buffy’), and it was flirtation at first sight! I was trying to pursue him, but he said he didn’t want to date somebody he was working with. But we developed a great friendship … When my new relationship ran its course, the whole thing suddenly changed and Alex and I started to really care about each other. So it was two years before we started seeing each other and that was back in 1999. I took my mom’s advice and thought really hard about the whole thing – and didn’t marry until I was nearly 30.”

Winona Ryder

Winona feels that she only wants to get married once so wants to be certain she’s committing to the right person: “I very much believe in marriage. I hope to only be married once, which is why I’ve never been married. But I am a strong believer. My parents have been together for 40 years and are still very much in love so I think I have very high standards.”

Shia LaBeouf

Shia isn’t against the idea of marriage but thinks he is too young to take the plunge just yet:  ”I’m not opposed to marriage. I just think I’m quite young. I come from divorce. I’m only doing marriage once. It’s not a game for me. I’m not a religious person, but I have ethics.”

Paris Hilton

Paris says she isn’t rushing into settling down because she sees how often it doesn’t work out: “I have seen the breakups between people who love each other and rush into getting married too quickly. I do not want to make that mistake. I’m still young and still have a very active career that I’m not prepared to give up. I have worked very hard to get to where I am.”

Beyonce, who is now married to Jay-Z, says you can’t rush a man into it: “You can’t rush a man into anything – whether it’s a relationship, marriage or having children. When he’s ready, he’ll let you know. I was never one of those girls who dreamed of a big wedding. Maybe me and my man will go away to an island; maybe we’ll go to a church. I have no idea.”
