5 Celebs on Zayn Malik’s Decision to Leave One Direction

Zayn Malik has shocked ‘One Direction’ fans by announcing his departure from the band. The news came as a huge surprise and many fans are upset by the news, even though the band will continue without him. These 5 celebrities have all spoken on Zayn’s decision, weighing in on why they think he has opted out and what the band must be going through. Here are their thoughts on Zayn’s exit.

Gary Barlow

Having been through his own band breakup with ‘Take That’, Gary commented that he knows what the band are going through: “Sending my best to all the 1D boys ! #thatters we’ve all been there haven’t we?!!!!”

Harry Judd

McFly’s Harry Judd commented: “Bum out news for 1D fans. Sad to see Zayn go but you gotta to what you gotta do. Brave decision.”

Louis Walsh
The X Factor - Press Launch

Louis thinks the band have been working so hard that one of them was bound to have trouble: “The problem with these guys is they’ve been in a bubble for the last five years, pressure, working, a lot harder than people think, so something had to give. So Zayn was the first person to crack up a little bit.”

Simon Cowell

Simon said that he was sorry to see Zayn leave the band: “I would like to say thank you to Zayn for everything he has done for One Direction. Since I first met Zayn in 2010, I have grown very, very fond – and immensely proud – of him. I have seen him grow in confidence and I am truly sorry to see him leave. As for One Direction, fans can rest assured that ‎Niall, Liam, Harry and Louis are hugely excited about the future of the band.”

Sinitta commented that Zayn has always been the shy one and he found it hard to be a part of the band, even at the beginning: “I didn’t know he was going to be leaving, I knew that there were troubles, but the funny thing is, Zayn, he was always the most reluctant. Even in the early days when we wanted them to dance and there was choreography… He was always the shy one at the back. He has an incredible voice, beautiful boy, really sweet, but just very, very shy and introverted so it was hard to get him to even be in the band in the first place.”
