5 Celebrities Who Hate Being Photographed by Paparazzi

While not many stars enjoy being constantly followed and having their personal lives destroyed by the always following paparazzi, these 5 celebrities in particular hate having their photo taken regularly. Some even go to extreme lengths to avoid photographers, hiding out at home or only going out when they know they won’t be seen. Others know they can’t stop living their lives just because of the paps, but still don’t enjoy the attention.

Emma Watson

Emma hates being photographed but can’t lock herself away either: “What am I going to say? ‘No, I am not going to go because I don’t want to be photographed?'”

Johnny Depp

Johnny often feels like he can’t go out: “You don’t ever get used to that kind of thing. That’s why I hardly ever leave my house. I don’t go anywhere. I understand what it’s about but there’s only so much of that sort of thing a human being can deal with. I can’t think of myself in terms of celebrity. It’s just too weird. If the choice is between being gawked at and sitting in a chair in a dark room, I prefer the dark room.”

Kristen Stewart

Kristen won’t smile for paparazzi: ”I feel like if I smiled for a paparazzi photo – not that I ever would – that’s exactly what people would be desecrating me for. They’d be like, ‘Now you’re going to give it up, now you’re a sellout.’ Like, OK, what do you want? What would you like?”

Penelope Cruz

Penelope does her best to avoid the cameras: “I try to lead a normal life, but there are things I wouldn’t do if there are 20 of them behind me. I always see them and I always feel them, and my friends are always surprised because I can say, ‘There’s one behind that tree there 100 metres away,’ and they’re like, ‘No, you’re paranoid.’ But I smell them. I’m glad I’m paranoid because it protects me.”

Robert Pattinson

Rob alters the way he lives to avoid being photographed: ”I hate getting photographed. So my life has contracted a lot. I only go to places with underground parking lots that sounds stupid. But it means I don’t have to deal with that anxiety.”
