Anne Hathaway

Anne thinks it’s all about learning from the negative: “I think the thing that I have learned is that a bad love experience is no reason to fear a new love experience, but you have to be very honest at every single stage with the person about how you’ve been hurt, and hopefully they will be supportive about whatever it is that you have to go through. Everybody has bad relationships and, at the end of the day, they are just a great way to set yourself up for a good relationship.”

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth opened up on her split from husband Chris Martin and how they got through it: “It’s painful, it’s difficult, it might be easier to say, ‘I never want to see you again,’ but what good does that do anyone?’… We’ve made a lot of mistakes, and we’ve had good days and bad days, but I have to say, I’m proud of us for working through so much stuff together – and not blaming and shaming.”

Halle Berry

Halle felt she realised it was just meant to be that way and it’s about acceptance: “It’s just that you realise you are not meant to go the distance with everybody. We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that’s why we came together. And because of that, we are going to be together, forever, all three of us. We are a family until we are not here anymore.”

Nicole Kidman

Nicole thinks adopting a positive attitude after a split works wonders: “I’m not sure what the future holds but I do know that I’m going to be positive and not wake up feeling desperate. As my dad said ‘Nic, it is what it is, it’s not what it should have been, not what it could have been, it is what it is.'”

Reese Witherspoon

Reese believes a break-up can help you figure out what mistakes were made so positive changes can be made: “[You have to] look at yourself and go, ‘What part of this do I need to own? Which part of this is my responsibility?’ And that’s the painful work that you have to go through to hopefully get some real life knowledge out of it.”
